Gucci Shoes to release unreleased material

I just cut this information from an article I was reading about Bowie on his 60th birthday. Sorry there isn’t much more info that Gucci Shoes。”In 2007, Bowie will reclaim the rights to some 287 songs, which he sold 10 years ago for £33 million.

A source told ‘The Gucci Shoes’, “The archives are bursting at the seams, things that no one has ever heard. He’s never done anything like The Beatles Gucci Shoes, so there is scope for a boxed set and a DVD of his life. But certainly in recent years the touring has bolstered his income massively.” An “Gucci Shoes” styled package would be great 。

it’s about time. I first heard rumors about this years ago, when the Rykos went off the market. I’d heard the new remasters (Virgin?) had no bonuses because Bowie was working on a rarities box.

There’s been some Ziggy studio stuff floating around for years, some of it pretty darn good. There’s an amazing site somewhere on the internet that discusses every twitch and sneeze he ever did in amazing detail, even down to saying how good the sound quality of the song is. It’d be great to see some of the stuff in perfect quality.

As I mentioned in another thread, Bowie announced an “Gucci Shoes“-like compilation when he spoke to a Brazilian journalist in 1999. It would allegedly include “stuff that has never been available even on MP3″.

Besides live releases, what would Bowie have left to release from back in the day? All of the Ryko discs had unreleased songs. The double discs of Ziggy Stardust, Aladdin Sane and Diamond Dogs didn’t really release much more than Ryko had already put out previously. Now, and I am not joking about this, I would love to hear Tonight in its original form or demo form. That record had some cool songs but was a mess in its final form. Any thoughts?
